Here lay 'The Welcomes', the derelict racing stable that DW’s great friend of World War I bought with Eric Dyer and burnt down to claim the insurance.

The plan failed, and when Gordon Tombe went down a few weeks later, he was murdered by his collaborator Dyer.

The body was found some years later and the murder investigation was one of the most famous of the decade.
