An unusual and possibly unique binding of a volume from
The Dennis Wheatley Library of the Occult published by Sphere in 1974.
'Carnacki the Ghost Finder' by William Hope Hodgson
This is the Sphere paperback edition with an introduction by Dennis Wheatley,
but the pages and text have been enlarged and it has been bound in leather and cloth
with gilt titles stamped to the spine.
I am sure that this is not a commercial binding and is either a special binding commissioned by a collector or a project by a design or bookbinding student.
Whether this was a one off or whether the whole series of forty-five volumes was bound in a similar fashion, it is impossible to say until such time as another volume shows up.
This copy was purchased from a Canadian dealer.
