Nash's 'Pall Mall' magazine for January 1933 (on sale in
December 1932) carried Wheatley's short story 'The Snake'.
This was the first example of his writing being published
commercially.
Clearly, very proud, he sent copies to his friends over the
Christmas period as can be seen from the inscription: 'This is
our Christmas card this year - see pages 42 - & 116 - First Blood!
With every good wish from us both Dennis & Joan'

He also included a prospectus of his soon to be published first
novel 'The Forbidden Territory'.
